If you want to know where Cardinal Gibbons star defensive end Khris Bogle is going to play in college, you’re going to have to wait until January and tune in to NBC.

Bogle, the No. 1 2019 prospect in Broward County, said he will announce his college commitment during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 5. Bogle was given his jersey for the annual all-star game at a ceremony at Cardinal Gibbons on Tuesday.

“Bigger stage,” Bogle said, “and everybody in the world can get to see me commit.”

The All-American Bowl, which is being played at the Alamodome in San Antonio and will be broadcast on NBC, features some of the top high school seniors in the county.

Coconut Creek’s Tiawan Mullen and Chaminade-Madonna’s Keontra Smith will also play in this game.

“It’s unbelievable because it’s been a long process, and I just take it day by day,” Bogle said. “Talked with my mom and the rest of my family, and it’s just an unbelievable experience. To get to go to San Antonio for free to do it, do it big, on a bigger stage, it’s a blessing.”

More than 40 teams are hoping to land Bogle’s services, including Alabama, Florida, Miami and Ohio State. Bogle, a fourstar prospect and No. 57 player in the 2019 class, just returned from a trip to Tuscaloosa to see Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide defeat Mississippi State.

“It was great,” Bogle said. “I enjoyed it. My player host was [Alabama linebacker] Mack Wilson, so we talked. His story and my story are similar to each other’s. So it was good.

“He was in the same position that I’m in today. He liked a lot of schools, and it came down at the last minute.”

Bogle said he is sure to visit Miami in December and may visit Florida, Oklahoma and Ole Miss.

Bogle missed the first six games of the season due to a knee injury, but in four-regular season games and one playoff game, he has racked up 28 tackles, including 8.5 for losses, and six sacks.

“Khris has been a pillar in our program the last four years,” Chiefs coach Matt DuBuc said. “As a coach, obviously, he makes you much smarter, better.”

Bogle and the Chiefs are in the midst of a title hunt, beating Merritt Island in the first round of the playoffs last week. They face Orlando Jones at home on Friday.

“With my teammates and especially my defense, I think we’ve got the ability to win it all,” Bogle said. “Not to be cocky or anything, but I just feel like we’ve got the best defense in the state of Florida.”
