Argentinean Novecento coming to Doral in 2019
Novecento
3450 NW 83rd Ave., Suite 137, Doral, 786-871-4935, Novecento.com
This Argentinean mini chain with Mediterranean influences is introducing a fourth location in early 2019 in the former Icebox Café at CityPlace Doral, joining Aventura, Brickell and Key Biscayne.
The opening will unveil a new interior design and revamped menu.
"The Doral venue is our most beautiful yet. We wanted it to feel homey and authentic to remind us of our hometown in Argentina. The bodegas of Mendoza were our inspiration for Novecento's design,” marketing director Sebastian Stahl says. “The restaurant will feel simple, yet refined, with natural wood and subtle copper accents, and we needed a large, open wine cellar."
Highlights will include five kinds of empanadas ($5-6), chorizo sandwich ($14), stracciatella with cherry tomatoes ($15), char-grilled octopus ($19) and pastas, such as housemade calabaza ravioli with brown butter and sage ($18) and house-made ricotta gnocchi ($20). The open-fire grill will offer choices from boneless half chicken ($19) and skirt steak ($28) to branzino ($34) and rib eye ($36).
Hot or cold yerba maté ($8-$9) will be served from a cart, as well as a spiked version with gin, grapefruit mescal and pineapple vodka ($12).
Dulce de leche laces
crème brûlée, flan, crepes and a soufflé with banana ice cream ($8-$10).
“The restaurant will feature an Enomatic wine machine that has an expansive selection of 20 wines offered in pours of 0.5 ounces, 3 ounces or a glass,” Stahl says. “This allows guests the opportunity to try more expensive wines that they may not have been willing to opt for before, without having to purchase the whole bottle.”
Lunch and dinner will be served daily, plus weekend brunch.
