Bo’s Beach hiring 200 workers

Bo’s Beach, the longawaited seafood and woodfired pizza restaurant replacing Oasis Cafe in Fort Lauderdale’s beachfront resort area, is hiring 200 workers as it plans to open soon.

An opening date has not yet been announced other than “winter 2019,” according to a spokeswoman for the new eatery, which is expected to serve up to 300 patrons at a time.

Applicants are being sought for these positions: Cook I, cook II, cook III, kitchen supervisor, prep cook, kitchen steward, server assistants, bartenders, host/hostess, servers, cocktail servers and bar backs, a news release said.

Developed by former Miami Dolphins linebacker Kim Bokamper and partners P.D.K.N. Holdings, the project formerly known as Bo’s Beach House has been beset with permitting delays since Bokamper won the right to develop it on city-owned property at 600 Seabreeze Blvd. in August 2015.

The partners told the city that the new restaurant would be more of a tropical eatery rather than a beachfront version of their Bokamper’s Bar & Grill chain that has locations in Estero, Miramar, Naples, Plantation and Fort Lauderdale on the Intracoastal north of Oakland Park Boulevard.

The menu will feature “local fresh seafood, farmto-table dishes, a signature wood-fired oven and oceaninspired classics,” the release said. “The restaurant will have both indoor and outdoor seating and will offer tables with direct ocean views.”

Full- and part-time workers are invited to apply in person at the Fort Lauderdale Bokamper’s at 3115 NE 32nd Ave., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Resumés can also be emailed to careers@pdknrestaurantgroup.com.

The company is looking for candidates with at least two years experience, plus “a professional appearance and ability to work as a team, and those with reliable transportation and the ability to be flexible when business dictates,” the release said.

Applicants should bring identification and documents necessary for employment, such as a driver’s license and Social Security card. They may also want to bring a voided check or bank statement for direct deposit enrollment, the release said.
