Smith, Oxbridge improve to 14-1

Behind Kaylon Smith’s double-double performanc­e, the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWol­ves orchestrat­ed a dominating 66-41 victory against the (12-3) West Orange Warriors on Saturday in Winter Garden.

Smith posted a teamhigh 16 points and 11 rebounds to fuel the ThunderWol­ves to a 14-1 record and the top spot in Class 5A standings.

Nashani Gilbert-Taylor was second in scoring for Oxbridge Academy with 12 points and also managed to haul in eight boards.

St. Thomas Aquinas 88, Piper 42:

Junior Bella LaChance led the way for the hosting Raiders (9-3) as she posted 24 points, eights assists and six steals Monday in Fort Lauderdale to secure the team’s ninth win of the season.

West Boca Raton 46, Boca Raton 33:

Sophomore Tamaya Patterson led the visiting Bulls (10-4) on Monday with a teamhigh 12 points and five board to help improve the team’s road record to 4-2.

Archbishop McCarthy 58, Stranahan 41:

The traveling Mavericks (10-5) were led by senior Lauren Carmona who scored a team-high 22 points against the Dragons (12-4) Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale.

West Boca Raton 66, Spanish River 26:

Junior Douthshine Prien and Patterson scored a combined 40 points Tuesday for the Bulls (11-4) as they defended their home court against the Sharks (6-5).
