Pitbull’s iLov305 opens with birthday party for rapper
Pitbull’s much buzzedabout new restaurant and nightlife destination iLov305 openedwith a party Tuesday night in South Beach.
The establishment hosted a belated 38th birthday bash for the rapper with cocktails, according to a publicist for the restaurant.
The Cuban-American rapper was scheduled to attend the opening at 1060 Ocean Dr.
“iLov305 will be the sexiest party and dinner spot on the beach ‘Where What Happens, Never Happened,’ Dale!” the rapper, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, said in a release.
The restaurant portion though won’t open until later this month due to ongoing construction, according to the publicist. When it opens, it will feature “American comfort food and tropical Latin cuisine with a Miami flair” such as the “305 Burger” which is a beef patty with grilled shrimp and plantains and chipotle, and the “Seafood Paella.”
The nightspot is in the former Bel-Air Hotel in South Beach. Visitors will be greeted by cigar rollers as they enter the 9,000 square-foot space, which will have four bars, including a daiquiri bar with an Old Havana tropical vibe.
In the middle of the main dining room, there will be the Pitbull Voli bar named after the rapper’s vodka brand. The upper levels will have VIP areas including one called the “Dale!” Room which will be the entertainer’s private area with a bar and bathroom.
The term “Dale” is Pitbull’s energetic catchphrase — which essentially means “go ahead!”
The restaurant and lounge concept is the first iLov305 in Miami Beach. There is an iLov305 lounge that opened at the Biloxi Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Mississippi last summer and another is under construction in San Diego.
