A man being sought by the Broward Sheriff’s Office for allegedly firing bullets at his father in a drive-by shooting has been taken into custody.

Quantez Rodney Baker, 20, was booked into Broward’s jail shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, records show.

Last week, in an attempt to generate leads in the case, the sheriff ’s office released surveillance video of the shooting that took place in Pompano Beach on the evening of Jan. 4. It shows a gray MercedesBenz SUV slowly passing a home’s driveway — as shots are fired from the vehicle. According to investigators, the shots were being fired by Baker.

Baker’s dad and a woman, who were outside in the driveway, are seen scrambling to safety as bullets slam into the outside of the home. They were not struck by the gunfire.

According to investigators, the shooting was the result of an argument that began over money and then escalated.

Baker surrendered to detectives on Jan. 14. He was booked into jail on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and shooting into a dwelling and probation violation, the sheriff ’s office said Tuesday.

During a court hearing Tuesday, Baker was ordered held without bond because he was arrested while on probation in another case.
