Job fair touts more than 1,000 available positions

More than 1,000 jobs are available with employers scheduled for a job fair March 6 in Sunrise, according to organizer Job News USA.

The job fair will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at BB&T Center, which is at One Panther Parkway in Sunrise.

Those interested can register at the door or online at jobnews usa.com.

Employers scheduled include Doubletree at Hilton Ocean Pointe, which is looking for a catering sales manager, sous chef, cashier, room attendants, pool attendants and other positions; Norwegian Cruise Line is hiring for finance, sales, customer service and informatio­n technology profession­als; and City Furniture is looking for delivery drivers, warehouse workers and sales associates.

Other participat­ing employers include Entercom Miami radio, Florida Panthers, Florida Behavioral Health, First Data, Verizon, ARC Broward, Vacation Village, Best Western Plus, Mobile Help, and U.S. Standard Products. A full list of employers scheduled is available on the registrati­on site.

Job News recommends that job seekers research companies of interest and develop tailored resumes

for those companies. Job seekers also should prepare and practice responses to typical interview questions, such as “Tell me what you know about our organizati­on” and “Why do you want to work here?”

The job-fair organizer also asks that job seekers leave big bags at home to expedite the security line.
