OKLAHOMA CITY — Miami Heat point guard Justise Winslow missed his second consecutive game with a right thigh bruise Monday night.

Guard Rodney McGruder was also out with left knee soreness for the Heat’s game against the Thunder. All-Star guard Dwyane Wade, retiring at season’s end, was active for his final visit to Oklahoma City after receiving a probable designation for a right hip bruise on the league’s injury report.

Winslow was initially hurt in the third quarter of the Heat’s loss on Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite returning later in that game, he missed the Sunday afternoon win over the Charlotte Hornets. Monday night was the ninth game he has missed this season.

Without Winslow, a forward who has started at point guard most of the season with Goran Dragic missing significant time, forward Derrick Jones Jr. started on Monday, like he did on Sunday against Charlotte with Josh Richardson handling most of the point guard duties with the first unit. Dragic remained in his recent role off the bench.

McGruder only played three minutes in Sunday’s win over the Hornets.

“It was bothering him a little bit the last few days,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Monday. “We wanted to take care of it now.”

Said McGruder: “Just treating it right now to make sure it’s nothing serious.”

Wade played on Sunday after exiting to the locker room on Friday against the Bucks and then returning. Wade won the second of his three NBA titles in 2012 against the Thunder.

The Thunder were without All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook, who served a one-game suspension for receiving his 16th technical foul of the season, reaching the suspension threshold.

The visit to Oklahoma City for the Heat started a four-game road trip, which by the end of it, will be a run of five games in seven days.

Earlier Monday, the Heat announced they recalled guard Chris Cooke and forward Yante Maten from the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the G League.
