Miami Beach Pop Fest lineup is out

- By Phillip Valys

On Monday, organizers of the Miami Beach Pop Festival announced singleday tickets and its daily lineup of music acts sounding off at the beachside music bash Nov. 8-10.

The inaugural festival’s bill is loaded with highcaliber music acts from a diversity of genres, topped by Jack Johnson (Nov. 8), Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee and Norwegian DJ Kyga (both

Nov. 9), and Chance the Rapper (Nov. 10). General admission single-day tickets will cost $97.99-$259.99 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, with presales kicking off at 10 a.m. Aug. 5 for American Express cardholders via Eventbrite.com and MiamiBeachPop.com.

Meanwhile, three-day presale tickets, also on sale, cost $199 and $1,250 for VIP wristbands, which include private restrooms, shuttles and viewing areas among other perks. Miami Beach ticket buyers will receive a 20 percent discount (four tickets per household) if they live in zip codes 33139, 33140 and 33141.

The 40-act bill, debuting on 25 acres of Miami Beach between Fifth and 10th streets, will also feature Jack White’s rock quartet the Raconteurs, throwback soul crooner Leon Bridges, rap veteran T-Pain and disco-funk icons Nile Rodgers and Chic. The rest of the bill, mostly Miami-centric, will include DJ Windows 98 (Arcade Fire’s Win Butler), Bomba Estereo, Magic City Hippies, Afrobeta, Quinn XCII, Roosevelt Collier and the Miami Beach Senior High Rock Ensemble.

When the Okeechobee Music Festival decided to take a break in 2019, music-loving tribes turned their attention to South Beach. Miami Beach Pop Festival came together with the combined musical clout of Paul Peck and Steve Sybesma, founders of the Okeechobee Music Festival.

And like Okeechobee, Miami Beach Pop is planning nontraditional elements, including a jam session with Nile Rodgers and an all-star salute to Bob Marley led by Stephen Marley and a roster of special guests, such as singer-songwriter Ben Folds with the Frost School of Music.

Below, check out the full day-by-day lineup of music:
