Hop on: Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi’s wine and beer cruises setting sail for happy hour

The 90-minute specialty cruise kicks off at 7 p.m.
(but pre-boarding is 6:30 p.m., so arrive early for ample schmoozin’ and wine choosin’). Meanwhile a cruise director, often spotted wearing a jaunty cheese hat, will escort cruisers aboard the Water Taxi.

As sunset falls, the leisurely tour chugs east along the Tarpon River and slices northeast along Las Olas’s ritzy finger islands (aka Millionaire’s Row) before bending north along the Intracoastal Waterway. The water taxi then flips around near Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, north of Sunrise Boulevard, and drops passengers off back at Stranahan House.
If you’re cruising for artisanal suds instead, hop aboard the Craft Beer Cruise that departs from Stranahan House at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. (Preboarding begins at 6:30 p.m., so prepare your livers accordingly.)
