- By Safid Deen

The Miami Dolphins traded for two offensive linemen, including a Weston native and former University of Miami standout, on Friday in hopes of shoring up their weakest unit before the 2019 season.

The Dolphins acquired Danny Isidora by sending a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for the former Hurricanes starter.

The Dolphins also traded for guard Evan Boehm, who worked with new offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo last season with the Indianapolis Colts. They got Boehm for a conditional draft pick.

With the preseason ending Thursday night in New Orleans, the Dolphins have shifted their focus to finalizing their roster ahead of the season opener on Sept. 8 against the Baltimore Ravens at Hard Rock Stadium. The Dolphins still must cut several player to finalize their 53-man roster for the season by Saturday’s 4 p.m. deadline.

The acquisitions of Isidora and Boehm will occupy two of those final roster spots and potentially shore up the Dolphins offensive line this season.

Behind standout left tackle Laremy Tunsil, the Dolphins were starting rookie guards Michael Dieter (their recent thirdround pick) and Shaq Calhoun (undrafted) with veteran center Daniel Kilgore and veteran Jesse Davis at right tackle, a new position for him.

Isidora, a Weston native who attended Cypress Bay High School, was a fifth-round pick out of UM by the Vikings in 2017. He has played in 21 games with three starts for Minnesota.

Boehm, 26, is a former Missouri standout who played his first two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before playing for the Colts last season. He has appeared in 42 games with 13 starts since 2016.
