■ Angels: OF Mike Trout’s return to the lineup was pushed back for at least one more day. Trout was expected to return after a four-game absence due to a nerve issue in his right foot but was a late scratch against the Rays. A twotime AL MVP, Trout, 28, leads the AL with 45 HRs.

■ Diamondbac­ks: Las Vegas reportedly followed suburban Henderson in possible talks about relocating the team to Nevada. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that it obtained documents showing the team and Las Vegas signed a nondisclos­ure agreement in August 2018, two weeks after signing a similar pact with Henderson. The Diamondbac­ks can get out of their lease at Chase Field as early as 2022.

■ Dodgers: INF Max Muncy was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and started at first base against the Mets. Muncy, 29, suffered a broken right wrist after bring hit by a pitch on Aug. 28. Muncy is hitting .253 with 33 HRs and a career-best 87 RBIs in 129 games. ■ Indians: Highly touted reliever James Karinchak has been recalled while All-Star LHP Brad Hand (arm) is sidelined. Karinchak, 23, was added to the roster before the Indians opened a three-game set against the AL Centrallea­ding Twins. The righthande­r is viewed as the club’s future closer. He pitched 31⁄3 scoreless innings in three postseason appearance­s for Triple-A Columbus.

■ Braves: OF Nick Markakis was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and started against the Nationals. Markakis, 35, missed 43 games with a broken left wrist. Coming into Friday, he is hitting .284 with nine HRs, 55 RBIs and 57 runs scored in 104 games. … INF John Camargo was placed on the 10-day IL with a fractured right shin. Camargo, 25, is batting .233 with seven HRs, 32 RBIs and 31 runs scored in 98 games.

■ Giants: RHP Johnny Cueto is scheduled to make his second start following Tommy John surgery sooner than planned. MLB.com reported that Cueto, 33, will face the Marlins on Sunday in San Francisco. He was expected to start Tuesday at Fenway Park versus the Red Sox. In his first start in more than 13 months, Cueto limited the Pirates to one hit over five scoreless innings but the Giants fell 4-2 on Thursday. Manager Bruce Bochy said Cueto will again throw about 70 pitches and remain in the rotation for the remainder of the season.

■ Astros: Jose Altuve broke the club’s single-season record for HRs by a second baseman when he belted his 28th HR in the top of the first inning off Royals LHP Danny Duffy. Jeff Kent hit 27 HRs in 2004.

■ Extra innings: ... Mariners OF Kyle Lewis became the second player in MLB history to homer in his first three games after going deep in Thursday’s 11-5 loss to the Reds. Rockies SS Trevor Story homered in his first four games in 2016. … Reds rookie OF Nick Senzel will miss the rest of the season with a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder. He will seek a second opinion on the injury on Monday in Los Angeles.
