Oregon’s Ionescu first to milestone

Sabrina Ionescu became the first player, man or woman, in NCAA Division I history to reach 2,000 points, 1,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds and notched her record 26th career triple-double hours after speaking at Kobe Bryant’s memorial service, leading No. 3 Oregon past No. 4 Stanford 74-66 on Monday night in Stanford, Calif.

Ionescu hit the milestone on a defensive rebound with 1:47 remaining in the third quarter and finished with 21 points, 12 assists and 12 rebounds in her first triple-double against a top-10 opponent and eighth overall this season to help Oregon (26-2, 15-1 Pac-12) clinch at least a share of its third straight Pac-12 regularsea­son title.

Ionescu, a 5-11 senior guard, also had a triple-double Friday night at California while playing not far from her hometown of Walnut Creek.

Boxing:

Former heavyweigh­t champ Deontay Wilder told ESPN that he will “definitely” exercise his right to a third fight with Tyson Fury. Wilder lost to Fury in their rematch Saturday night in Las Vegas. The two fought to a disputed draw 14 months ago.

NFL:

League owners and the players’ union will meet Tuesday at the scouting combine in Indianapol­is to continue discussion­s over a potential new collective bargaining agreement. The owners voted last week to approve the proposal, while the NFLPA’s executive council voted 6-5 not to recommend it to its membership . ... Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young will not work out at the combine but will be there for interviews and medical testing, ESPN reported. Young will participat­e in position drills at Ohio State’s pro day.

Liverpool remained unbeaten in the Premier League with a 3-2 comeback win over West Ham 3-2. Liverpool tied the league record for consecutiv­e top-flight wins at 18 and successive top-flight home victories at 21 and leads two-time defending champ and second-place Manchester City by 22 points.
