Bewley, Graziani, Haynes lauded
Trio selected to all-state first teams; 4 more also recognized
The Florida Association of Basketball Coaches released its Class 5A and Class 6A All-State teams, and three local players earned first-team honors.
Northeast forward Matthew Bewley and Pembroke Pines Charter guard Dallas Graziani made the Class 5A first team, while Dillard forward Jalen Haynes was named to the Class 6A first team.
Additionally, Northeast guard Wesley Cardet was named to the Class 5A second team, while Pines Charter’s forward Amarachi Ujagbor and Suncoast guard Sam Rolle IV were placed on the Class 5A third team.
Dillard guard Ivan Reynolds was named to the Class 6A third team.
Bewley had a breakout freshman year for Northeast. The forward was a firstteam all-county selection after averaging 19 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocks per game. He holds offers from Alabama, DePaul and USF.
Graziani, who was the Sun Sentinel’s Broward County Class 5A-1A Player of the Year and a preseason Fab Five selection, averaged 17.9 points per game and helped lead the Jaguars to the Class 5A state title game. Next season, Graziani will stay close to home and play for Nova Southeastern.
Haynes was the Sun Sentinel’s Class Broward County Class 7A-6A Player of the Year after averaging a team-best 18.4 points and 9.4 rebounds. Haynes helped lead Dillard to the Class 6A state title game. The senior forward holds offers from Austin Peay and FAU, among others.
Cardet, who was a Sun Sentinel secondteam pick, had a strong season for Northeast. The junior guard is rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports’ composite ranking. He is listed as the No. 12 combo guard and No. 121 overall player in the 2021 class.
Ujagbor was an all-county honorable mention after averaging 10.3 points on a strong Pines Charter team. The senior forward has an offer from FIU.
Rolle, who was a preseason Fab Five pick and a first-team all-county selection, finished his senior year averaging 20.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and four assists per game.
Reynolds, who hit a key buzzer-beater in the Class 6A state semifinals, was a key contributor for the Panthers last season. He was a first-team all-county selection after averaging 12.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 2.3 assists.
