Police seeking DeAndre Baker
Two NFL players are wanted on charges of armed robbery and assault in Miramar, authorities said.
Miramar Police have a warrant out for the arrest of Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker and Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar for allegedly threatening someone with a gun at a party on Wednesday and then robbing them, according to a police report.
The pair allegedly stole money and luxury-brand watches from the victims, the report said. Baker was allegedly armed with a semi-automatic firearm during the incident and faces four counts of armed robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm. Dunbar also faces four counts of armed robbery with a firearm.
The NFL, Giants and Seahawks issued statements that said they were aware of the situation. The NFL declined to comment further. The Giants said they were in contact with Baker, and the Seahawks said they were still gathering information and would defer further comment to league investigators and local authorities.
Baker was the Giants’ first round pick in the 2019 draft and started 15 games last season.
He graduated from Miami Northwestern High School in 2015 and went on to attend the University of Georgia.
New York selected Baker 30th in the 2019 draft.
Dunbar, meanwhile, is a 2010 graduate of Miami’s Booker T. Washington High School and graduated from the University of Florida in 2015 before becoming one of the most sought undrafted free agents, signing with the Redskins on a three-year deal worth $1.57 million.
Dunbar was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in March for a fifth-round selection in April’s draft.
He is a cousin of former University of Miami star Denzel Perryman, now a linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers.
