Britney Spears releases new music

-

On Friday, Britney Spears released the bonus track “Mood Ring (By Demand)” from her 2016 album “Glory,” a track that was previously only available in Japan.

“Repurposed this since we didn’t use it,” the “Toxic” pop singer wrote on Instagram Thursday, alongside the new album cover. “What was requested next is out now ... I hope you turn #MoodRing up sooooooo loud!!!”

Spears, who has been keeping fans sheltering-inplace entertained on social media with yoga poses and casual revelations such as burning down her home gym, announced Thursday that she’d be dropping “Mood Ring (By Demand)” to streaming services. Earlier this month, she released a new cover for “Glory” after fans started the #JusticeForGlory social media campaign, and the album rose through the charts on iTunes.

“You asked for a new Glory cover and since it went to number one we had to make it happen !!!! ” the artist said on Instagram. “Couldn’t have done it without you all.” The repurposed “Glory” cover features Spears lying in the desert in a gold bathing suit with silver chains splayed out around her.

Carlile to stage virtual

concert series: Brandi Carlile has announced a new livestreaming series.

The Grammy-stacking folk-rocker will perform each of her albums in a string of virtual concerts to support her band and crew. The series begins at 9 p.m. Eastern Monday with Carlile and the Hanseroth twins playing their career-rocketing masterpiece “By the Way, I Forgive You.”

From there, the threesome plans to work backward through her catalog “with lots of bonus performances in there, too,” Carlile said in a video announcement on social media. Last week, Carlile asked fans on social media to help her pick one album to play in its entirety, the feedback apparently prompting the decision to run through them all.

Unlike some of the livestream fundraiser concerts during the pandemic, Monday’s show is a ticketed event instead of soliciting donations. Prices begin at $10. Dates for the rest of the digital shows have not been announced.

Sitcom casts partner

for charity: The casts of “Fresh Off the Boat” and “Kim’s Convenience” are partnering for one night for charity. In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, the ensembles of both TV comedies will do live table reads of their respective pilot episodes Saturday.

It will be a reunion for Randall Park, Constance Wu and the rest of the “Fresh Off the Boat” cast.

The ABC series about a Taiwanese American family ended in February.

“Kim’s Convenience,” which is available on Netflix, was recently renewed for a fifth and sixth season. It centers on a Korean family running a convenience store in Toronto. The show’s stars include Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jean Yoon and Simu Liu.

The event set for 9 p.m. Eastern on the Facebook and YouTube channels of Seed&Spark will benefit Asian arts organizations.
