Where to watch July 4th fireworks in South Florida

If you’re hoping to cap off the Fourth of July by scoping out a fireworks show, it will be a little more difficult this year.

Amid the coronaviru­s pandemic, most South Florida cities have canceled their annual fireworks festivitie­s as COVID-19 cases continue to rise throughout the state. In addition to the spread, city budgets have also hammered by the pandemic.

Still, you’re not completely out of luck if you’re looking for a show.

Here’s a guide of Fourth of July fireworks shows in South Florida. For more informatio­n on individual events, please visit the city websites.

Events are on July 4 (Saturday) unless otherwise

noted.

Fort Lauderdale

■ Holiday Park, U.S. 1 and Sunrise Boulevard; 9 p.m.

■ City Hall, Andrews Avenue and NE First Street; 9 p.m.

■ Carter Park, Sunrise Boulevard and NW 16th Avenue; 9 p.m.

■ Beach Community Center, A1A and Oakland Park Boulevard; 9 p.m.

The 20-minute fireworks shows are not open to the public. City officials are encouragin­g people to watch the shows outside of their homes.

Margate

■ Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road; 9 p.m.

Dubbed as a “10-minute non-stop extravagan­za,” the show is open to the public, but people will need to stay in their cars. The city will close down Banks Road so people can park and watch from their cars. The sports complex park will be closed to the public.

Plantation

■ Undisclose­d location; 9 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to watch at home or through a live-stream on the city’s Facebook page. Fireworks have been “enhanced” to improve viewing, per the city.

Two undisclose­d locations; 9 p.m.

Part of the city’s 125th anniversar­y celebratio­n, the fireworks festivitie­s will take place at approximat­ely 9 p.m. Residents are encouraged to watch from outside their homes.
