Our neighbors are getting worried

-

Dear Floridians,

You know us as snowbirds. Canadians spend so much time vacationing in Florida, that we consider you family. And as a country, we have fought alongside you in two world wars, Korea and Afghanistan. We also miss you during these trying times. But right now, our hearts are breaking. What we are watching is the destruction of democracy.

I’m not talking in partisan terms. Republicans and Democrats should be really concerned about some serious issues that have taken place over the past four years. I’m talking about the president’s inability to denounce Russia after U.S. soldiers were killed in Afghanistan, insisting that his tax returns are never shared, and most recently, telling his Director of National Intelligence not to brief Congress on election interference when in 2016, it was proven and reported by the Senate Intelligence Committee, with its Republican majority, that Russia interfered. These are just some of the abnormal behaviors of a “democratic leader.”

You must ask yourself, if you are a Republican and Hilary Clinton was acting this way (in an alternate universe), how would this make you feel? If she was hiding her tax returns, not supporting the military and using taxpayer money to play golf every week while almost 200,000 people have died from COVID-19?

Canada had zero COVID deaths reported a few days ago. We’re not perfect, and Trudeau isn’t perfect. However, we are family, and what we see is an abusive relationship, one that will create deep scars and take decades to fix. What you need is a leader with empathy, compassion and humanity. This guy just doesn’t have that.
