Lee’s kids to assist at Golden Globes

Spike Lee’s daughter and son have been chosen as the Golden Globe ambassador­s to assist with the awards ceremony.

Foreign Press Associatio­n announced Tuesday that Satchel and Jackson Lee will assume the ambassador roles for the 78th annual Golden Globes Awards in February.

Satchel and Jackson are the first siblings of color to hold the position. Jackson is the first Black male ambassador.

“We’re proud to carry our father’s legacy of storytelli­ng to bring attention to communitie­s close to our hearts,” said Satchel Lee, who was the creative director of DRØME, a queer and intersecti­onal arts and culture magazine.

Satchel chose to partner with Callen-Lorde, an organizati­on that helps with LGBTQIA+ communitie­s in New York City. Jackson is partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the volunteer-supported mentoring network.

“As a visionary creative, my dad taught Satchel and me the importance of entertainm­ent as a cultural catalyst of change,” he said.

‘Nomadland’wins at Gothams: The 30th Gotham Awards gave a very strange Oscar season a virtual start Monday in a digital ceremony.

Chloe Zhao’s “Nomadland” won best feature and the Gothams’ audience award. Nicole Behaire won best actress for “Miss Juneteenth.” The best actor category included a posthumous nomination for Chadwick Boseman in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” but the award went to Riz Ahmed, for “Sound of Metal.” Best screenplay went to both Radha Blank (“The FortyYear-Old Version”) and Dan Sallitt (“Fourteen”).

Eilish photo book in works: At age 19, Billie Eilish is already looking back. The Grammy-winning star is releasing a collection of hundreds of rarely seen photos in May, Grand Central Publishing announced Tuesday.

The book “Billie Eilish” will “capture the essence of Billie inside and out, offering readers personal glimpses into her childhood, her life on tour, and more,” according to Grand Central. It includes text but is “predominan­tly” photos.

In a statement Tuesday, Eilish said: “I spent many hours over many months poring through my family albums and archives, handpickin­g all of the photos in this book. I hope you love it as much as I do.”

Boseman will not be seen in‘Black Panther’ sequel: The “Black Panther” franchise will go on without the late Chadwick Boseman, who played the title role in the 2018 comic book adaptation.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Deadline that neither Boseman nor the character he played would be back in “Black Panther 2” in any form. “We’re not going to have a CG Chadwick, and we’re not recasting T’Challa,” Feige said.

Instead, Feige says the superhero franchise will revolve around the mythical land of Wakanda, which T’Challa ruled. Ryan Coogler is working on a script for the sequel.
