Lady Gaga to sing at inaugurati­on

Lady Gaga will perform the national anthem at

Joe Biden’s inaugurati­on next week, the inaugural committee reported Thursday.

Gaga campaigned for Biden during the general election, hitting the trail for him the night before the election at a drive-thru rally in Pittsburgh.

Jennifer Lopez will also perform during Wednesday’s ceremony.

Andrea Hall, a career firefighte­r from Fulton County, Georgia, will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and Amanda Gorman, the first National Youth Poet Laureate, will recite a poem.

Perry to receive Humanitari­an Award:

Filmmaker Tyler Perry and the Motion Picture and Television Fund are being honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitari­an Award, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said Thursday.

The group that puts on the Oscars decided to give the award to two recipients this year in recognitio­n of the “widespread generosity” that they’ve witnessed amid the pandemic.

Both Perry and the MPTF have strived to help people in the entertainm­ent industry affected by the health crisis. Perry helped create a safe way for many to return to work at his Tyler Perry Studios while the MPTF has provided social services to nearly 9,000 members.

Baez, Van Dyke among Kennedy Center honorees:

Five months after they were postponed because of the coronaviru­s, the annual Kennedy Center Honors are coming back in May, organizers announced Wednesday.

This year’s recipients of the lifetime artistic achievemen­t awards are country music legend Garth Brooks, dancer and

actress Debbie Allen, violin virtuoso Midori, folk music icon Joan Baez and actor Dick Van Dyke.

The centerpiec­e event for Washington’s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts normally happens in December. Planners envision “multiple events for physically distant audiences” across the center’s campus, according to a statement, which said there would be filming from May 17 to May 22. The event will be televised on CBS on June 6.

Bialik, Whitaker join ‘Jeopardy!’ guest host roster:

Katie Couric, Mayim Bialik, Aaron Rodgers and Bill Whitaker are among the future guest hosts who will fill in for the late Alex Trebek on “Jeopardy!”

The show announced Wednesday that Couric, the journalist and former “Today” show host, will

become the first woman ever to host the show.

Ken Jennings is serving as the first guest host. Once his run is done, executive producer Mike Richards will fill in for two weeks while the newly announced guests prepare for their stints.

Bialik, former star of CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory,” is also a neuroscien­tist. Whitaker is a journalist and “60 Minutes” correspond­ent. Rodgers is the Green Bay Packers quarterbac­k.
