Report: President plans move to Mar-a-Lago

- By Brooke Baitinger

Donald Trump is planning to live at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach after his term as president ends, Bloomberg News reported Thursday night.

Trump has said he does not plan to attend the inauguration of the next president, Joe Biden, on Wednesday. Trump is expected to arrive in Florida in the next week; some reports say he will leave Washington on Wednesday morning.

Several current White House staffers will work for him or his son-in-law Jared Kushner after his presidency, according to Bloomberg News.

Trump, who was kicked off his social media platforms after he encouraged a mob of his supporters to storm the U.S. Capitol, has not officially announced any post-presidency plans.

But those who live next-door to him in Palm Beach have made it clear that they

don’t want to be neighbors, The Washington Post reported last month.

Several of his neighbors have been trying to force Palm Beach to publicly address whether Trump can make Mar-a-Lago his legal residence and home, asserting that he lost his legal right to live there because of an agreement he signed in the early 1990s when he converted the property from a private residence to a private club.

Trump’s private club, which he has referred to as the Winter White House, could be fined by Palm Beach County if the club continues hosting maskless parties like one held there on New Year’s Eve.

Among the aides who are reportedly going to work for Trump or Kushner are: Nick Luna, the director of Oval Office Operations and Trump’s “body man;” Molly Michael, a deputy assistant to Trump; and Cassidy Hutchinson, an aide to Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Bloomberg reported. Luna’s wife, Cassidy Luna, a deputy assistant to the president, intends to work for Kushner, Bloomberg reported.
