FORT LAUDERDALE — Keep those bikinis on, kids. Boardshorts too.

Spring breakers have yet to arrive in Fort Lauderdale, but the cops are ready for any partiers who break the rules of law and decorum.

On Thursday, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department put out a list of things that could land a spring breaker in trouble.

Fake IDs, drinking booze on the beach and exposing genitalia and breasts are just a few.

The annual ritual will get underway Feb. 28 and won’t end until April 18.

Several colleges across the country aren’t giving students time off for spring break due to the coronavirus pandemic. But Fort Lauderdale beach was packed with Spring Breakers last year, and city officials say they expect a crowd this year, too.

Fort Lauderdale officials are advising people to wear masks if they cannot social distance. And if you’re trying to get somewhere fast, avoid State Road A1A because it’s likely to be even more crowded than usual.

If you’re coming to Fort Lauderdale to party, here’s what could land you in jail or in front of a judge:

Possessing, serving or giving an alcoholic beverage to a person under 21.

Refusing to leave or returning to an establishment after being warned to stay away.

Possessing or displaying a fake ID.

Possessing an open container of alcohol in public spots where it’s not allowed.

Causing a public disturbance while intoxicated.

Engaging in physical fighting or violent, threatening behavior.

Police also want visitors to keep a few more rules in mind.

Tents, tables and amplified speakers are not allowed on the beach from the 900 block of Seabreeze Boulevard north to the 1700 block of North A1A.

Ride share drivers will be fined if they pick up or drop off passengers along A1A. Drivers will need to use the Las Olas Oceanside Park at Las Olas and A1A. That’s the designated pickup/drop-off location.

Electric and motorized scooters and bikes are banned on the barrier island during Spring Break 2021.
