Frederick S. Share, M.D.
Frederick S. Share M.D. passed away at age 76 on Feb.19, 2021 in Hollywood, FL. Rick was born in Philadelphia in 1945 to Rudolph and Hannah (Abramson) Share. Rick and his brother Curtis were raised around the corner from the famous South St. in Center City Philadelphia where they attended Beth Jacob Hebrew School. He attended Central H.S. where he was captain of a winning chess team, Class 217 Vice President, and started the Stock and Bond Club, going on to Boston University Six Year medical program where he graduated Cum Laude. In 1968 he joined the Air Force and did confidential research at the Atomic Energy Commission while finishing his PhD in radiation biophysics and trained in radiation oncology at
Harvard. Dr. Share ran the Cancer Treatment Center in Williamsport Pa. and served as Assistant Administrator at the U of Penn Hospital Cancer Treatment Program. After consulting on plans for a new Miami facility Dr. Share was asked to run it as Director of the North Shore Gordon Griffith Cancer Center. All his Williamsport staff relocated to work with him. In 1991, South Florida Magazine nominated Frederick Share among the “Doctors of the Year.” He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Aviva, and his sons David, Andrew and Jonathan. Rick’s burial took place at Beth David Memorial Gardens in Hollywood, Fl with Air Force honors. Rick’s favorite charity was any Disabled U.S. Veterans organization.
