Calvary star Glenn commits to Michigan

- By Adam Lichtenstein

Michigan Wolverines coach and former Miami Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard reached back down to South Florida to snag one of the nation’s top rising senior basketball players.

Calvary Christian star forward Gregg Glenn committed to Howard’s Wolverines on Tuesday, announcing his decision on his Instagram page.

“Everything about Michigan was great,” Glenn said. “It felt like home to me.”

Glenn’s relationship with Howard goes back years. Howard’s sons, Jace and Jett, previously played high school basketball in South Florida at University School. Jace currently plays at Michigan, while Jett is a highly recruited rising senior.

“I’ve known [Juwan Howard] since I started playing basketball,” Glenn said. “I feel like it’s going to be a great experience to play with somebody [who is] like my uncle.”

Glenn has also been heavily recruited. The 6-foot-7 power forward is rated a fourstar prospect in 247 Sports’ composite ranking and is listed as the No. 19 power forward and No. 109 player in the 2022 class.

Glenn chose Michigan over offers from Alabama, Florida and Florida State, among others.

“I’m ready to work,” Glenn said.

Glenn has received numerous accolades in his time at Calvary Christian. He was a Fab Five pick as a sophomore and as a junior. He was an all-county first-team selection in 2021.

Last year, Glenn averaged about 14 points and 6.6 rebounds per game as he helped lead the Eagles to a state championship.

Glenn has one year left at Calvary before he departs for Ann Arbor. In that time, he will have to prepare for something new: Michigan winters.

“I don’t really like the cold like that,” he said. “I hope [I’m ready for it].”
