For those looking for seasonal work, there is good news. On Monday, Amazon said it would be hiring 10,500 seasonal workers in Florida, 150,000 nationwide.

All Amazon jobs, including seasonal positions, have an average starting salary of $18 an hour and an additional $3 an hour, depending on shifts at many locations. The seasonal roles are in addition to the 8,000 full-time and part-time operations jobs previously announced for Florida. Amazon offers start-up bonuses of up to $3,000 and pay of up to $22 an hour, depending on the job, the company says. Early morning, afternoon, night and weekend shifts pay more.

“We are proud to offer a wide range of full-time, part-time and now seasonal jobs with excellent salaries and benefits,” said Alicia Boler Davis, senior vice president of Global Customer Compliance, in a statement. “Our seasonal hiring … provides flexibility for our full-time employees during peak periods. Joining Amazon in one of our seasonal positions offers a well-paying part-time job or path to a full-time position, with benefits like our Career Choice program to help people advance their education and careers within Amazon or beyond.”

Amazon’s Career Choice program is designed to enhance the skills of its employees who are interested in pursuing a future outside of the company.

Jobs in Amazon’s network of operations include warehousing, picking, packing, shipping and more.

“New employees will be fully trained and allfacilitieswillfollowstrictCOVID-19health and safety protocols,” the company said.

Florida is among the states with the most seasonal roles, the company said.
