Harington throws cold water on Snow ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff

-

Winter, apparently, is not coming back. Kit Harington has shut down talk of a Jon Snow sequel to HBO’s massive hit “Game of Thrones.”

“There are no plans for it at the moment. It’s off the table for the foreseeable,” Harington said recently.

“Game of Thrones” ended in 2019 after eight seasons, but the prospect of spinoffs were bandied about. Fans had to wait three years for the only one that’s aired thus far, the HBO prequel “House of the Dragon,” set two centuries before “Game of Thrones.”

A sequel centered on the popular Snow — who started “Game of Thrones” as an outcast and brother of the Night’s Watch and fought his way to more power in Westeros and the truth of his ancestry — had reportedly been in development for a few years.

“We sort of threw around a few ideas. Nothing really stuck, and we’re going to leave it there for the moment,” Harington, 37, said.

An HBO spokesperson declined comment.

The second season of “House of the Dragon” is set to premiere June 16 — and fans eager for more Westeros can look forward to the prequel “Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.” Warner Bros. announced recently that Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell will lead the series, set 100 years before “Game of Thrones.”

‘Legally Blonde’ coming to Amazon Prime Video:

Reese Witherspoon’s blonde ambition will live on again — this time as a streaming series for Amazon Prime Video.

The actor, who rocketed to fame as Elle Woods in 2001’s blockbuster film “Legally Blonde,” has plans to revive the franchise for a new audience.

It was recently reported that a TV show is in the works at Amazon, with Witherspoon attached to executive produce through her Hello Sunshine media company.

With no plot details revealed, it’s unclear if the 48-year-old actor will reprise her role as the pinkclad Harvard Law School alum.

Sajak’s final ‘Wheel of Fortune’ episode date set:

The official date has been set for Pat Sajak’s final turn on “Wheel of Fortune.”

The longtime host will bid farewell with his last appearance June 7, according to Deadline. The episode, which has already been filmed, will also serve as the Season 41 finale of the game show.

After more than 40 years presiding over the iconic primetime guess-it game, Sajak announced his retirement from the show last June. The 76-year-old tweeted that “the time has come” for him to move on from “Wheel.”

Two weeks after the retirement announcement, former “American Idol” and “Live with Kelly and Ryan” host Ryan Seacrest was tapped to replace Sajak for Season 42.

‘Will Trent’ renewed: The crime procedural “Will Trent,” based on a series of books by Karin Slaughter, was given a relatively early third season renewal by ABC just five episodes into the second season.

“Will Trent” is building a steady fan base in its sophomore year and recently pulled in its highest rated episode ever with just over 9 million multiplatform viewers over seven days, according to ABC.

“I am absolutely delighted,” Slaughter said in a text. “They have such a great group of writers and the cast is totally working. It’s amazing to me how fresh and interesting every episode is. Can’t wait for more!”

Ramón Rodríguez plays Trent, a quirky, super smart Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent who suffers from dyslexia and grapples with his childhood time in foster care.
