CORALYN DENISE (HEFNER) TORRES

Coralyn Denise (Hefner) Torres, age 59, of Lubbock, Texas, (Former Resident of Sweetwater, Texas), passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Per her wishes, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Holder officiatin­g. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Coralyn was born on August 30, 1961 in Sweetwater, Texas to John B. (Jelly) and Patsy Ruth (Armstrong) Hefner. She graduated from Sweetwater High School. She was a Methodist. She worked as an administra­tive assistant for The Reeves Company which eventually became Key Energy Services. She was employed there for twenty nine years. She had an aneurysm in March 2011 which left her disabled until her death.

Coralyn resided at Windmill Village Nursing and Rehab facility in Lubbock, Texas for the past 2 l/2 years years. She was loved by all who took care of her. She was a real cut-up and left them in tears laughing. She was a master jokester. She will certainly be missed.

She is survived by two sons, Jordan Torres of Lubbock, Texas and Rhett Torres of Farmers Branch, Texas, five sisters, Carol Edwards and husband Larry of Richmond, Texas, Ann Dunlap of Lubbock, Texas, Patricia Thompson and husband Perry of Josephine, Texas, Brenda Kesterke and husband Ron of Cypress, Texas, and Robbie Cole and husband David of Shiner, Texas, sister-in-law, Melody Hefner of Sweetwater, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John B. (Jelly) and Patsy Ruth Hefner, brother, John (Bo) Hefner, and niece Audrey.

FRANKY DON MULLINS

Franky Don Mullins passed away October 19, 2020, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Rotan. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery in Haskell, directed by Weathersbe­e-Ray Funeral Home.

Born June 18, 1937, Franky Don was the son of the late Freeman and Bessie (Patterson) Mullins. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 101st Airborne Division. Franky Don married Wynette Sherman April 24, 1958, in Lawton, OK. He graduated from Sul Ross State University with his master’s degree. Football was his lifelong love as he coached at Matthews Junior High in Lubbock, Sul Ross State University, Bel Air High School in El Paso, the Haskell Indians, Knox City Greyhounds, Rotan Yellowhamm­ers, Hale Center Owls, Spearman Lynx, and Merkel Badgers. After football, he had a passion for the outdoors especially the family cabin he and Wynette built in Jasper, Colorado. He loved spending time with family and hunting and fishing.

Franky Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wynette; one grandson, Tyler Morrow; and two brothers, Clint Melton and Eugene Mullins.

He is survived by two sons, Donny Mullins (DeeAnn), and Kieth Mullins (Shelly); one daughter, Terrie Morrow (Wes); eight grandchild­ren, Dayme Mullins Walther (Marcus), Dane Mullins (Lori), David Mullins (Taylor), Jeremy Mullins (Mandi), Landry Mullins, Baylor Mullins, Coby Morrow (Courtney), Parker Morrow (Mallory); seventeen great-grandchild­ren, Price, Annabell and Boyd Walther, Cooper, Jake, Knox and Sterling Mullins, Leighton, Hayes, and Maren Mullins, Charlotte Morrow, Millie and Pate Morrow, Jaidyn and Keegan Mullins, Shelby and Jordan Jasso; one brother, Ben Melton of San Angelo; one sister, Myrtis Ivey of Haskell; one sister-in-law, Beth Mullins of Marlin; two brothers-in-law, George Sherman (Lynn) of Amarillo, and Hank Sherman (Kathy) of Roscoe; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Lula Bell.

ARTIE BELLE HARRIS

Artie Belle Harris passed away Friday, October 16, 2020. She was born July 29, 1927, to the late Charles and Lovetta (Farrah) Corbett, in Bramen, Oklahoma. She graduated high school in Hutchinson, Kansas and attended Hutchinson Junior College. She worked at a hospital in Wichita, Kansas, as an X-Ray technician, before marrying William R. (Bill) Harris on July 29, 1950. They lived in Ballinger, Texas, before moving to Sweetwater in 1963. They owned and operated Harris Drug in Sweetwater from 1963 to 1994. Artie was active in the Chamber of Commerce in Sweetwater. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Artie was an avid bridge player and earned her Life Masters rank. Artie is survived by her children: Dick Harris, and wife Lana of Abilene, Texas; Cindy Harris Valcik of Flower Mound, Texas; and Patty Harris Torres, and husband Greg of Sweetwater, Texas; grandchild­ren Pasia and Brynn Torres, and Laura Harris. Artie was preceded in death by her husband Bill, brother Charles Corbett, sister Ladee Tyler, and son-in-law Jim Valcik. Family and friends are invited for visitation Thursday, October 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 East Third St., Sweetwater, Texas 79556. There will be a graveside service at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road, Abilene, Texas on Friday October 23, 2020 at 2 pm. with Rev. Ryan Strebeck officiatin­g. Interment will follow directed by McCoy Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff of Abundant Blessings Care Home in Lantana, Texas and Ardent Hospice for their loving care of Artie the past several months.
