TERRELL VAUGHN GILBERT
Terrell Vaughn Gilbert, 71, of Flint, TX went to the waiting arms of the Lord after a long battle with cancer at 8:39 AM Friday morning, June 24, 2022 in Tyler, TX. Graveside services will be under the direction of McCoy’s Funeral Home and are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Kirk officiating. DEMETRIUS LEON ATKINS
Demetrius Leon Atkins, 60 of Wichita, Kansas passed away on June 22,2022 at his home. Funeral and visitation service for Demetrius will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1st, 2022 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Cremation will follow the service. Reverend Marvin Green will be officiating service.
Demetrius was born in Sweetwater, Texas on March 21, 1962, son of the late Plez “Rusty” Atkins Jr. and Nellie Joe Thompson.
He is survived by his ex-wife Teresa Diane Allen of Wichita, Kansas, his daughter Denise Atkins and husband Victor of Allen, Texas, his three sons Chris Atkins and wife Teresa of Hanover, Kansas, Josh Atkins of Kansas City, Missouri and Michael Williams of Abilene, Texas.
His grandchildren Derrick, Thomas, De’ja, Ceegan, Emani, Victor Jr, Ja’meire, Asher, Caron, Kya, Koby and his mother Nellie Joe Thompson of Sweetwater.
His brother Norris Atkins of Austin, Texas and Plez Eugene Atkins III of Desoto, Texas
His sister Rhonda Reddic of Plano, Rosanice Johnson of Abilene, Texas, Charletta Lemons of California, Annette Lemons of Fort Worth, Texas, Denise Reed of Houston, Texas and Jocqueline Carter of Bartlett, Texas.
Demetrius is predeceased by his father Plez “Rusty” Atkins Jr, his son Demetrius Atkins Jr. His maternal grandmother Evelyn Tatum, his paternal grandparents Plez “Lum” Sr and Mae Dee Atkins, his Aunt Earnestine Kinney, his uncles David West, Bobby Atkins and Ronald Atkins.
