BETHEL ASSEMBLY OF SWEETWATER

“But the LORD has been my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge”

It really does matter what you’re connected to. #letsabide #letsconnect. OUR REDEEMER LIVES !!!

BROADWAY BAPTIST CHURCH

Stuck in a Rut?

It is hard for the weather NOT to be the conversation lead-in these days. I mean, it’s been a long, hot summer already and it’s not even August! I don’t know what the record is for the most 100-degree days in a year is; but, I’m thinking we are going to get close. That’s not really a record I wanted to break. How about you?

Safe to say, our weather pattern is “Stuck in a Rut.” I look at the long-range forecast about once a week, and see the same thing every time. I keep praying, hoping, and trusting that God is going to break up this pattern with some much needed rain. In the meantime, I’m counting cloudy days as rainy days whether it rains or not!

I wonder: does this weather rut mirror our Spiritual lives at all? It is far too easy to fall into the trap of doubt, discouragement, and disbelief. When this happens, we fall prey to the rut. We just go through the motions of life, not really finding much joy or contentment in what we are doing. Does this sound familiar?

It doesn’t match up with John 10:10, where Jesus said, “I am come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” If this is something you long for, it’s time to turn your doubt into faith by paying attention to everything God is doing. Try turning your discouragement into thankfulness by purposefully looking for things to be thankful for. And, let the blinders of disbelief fall off by asking God to show you great things.

Let’s get out of that rut! As we give these things to God, we trust He will be faithful to lead us. And, we trust He will give us a break in our weather too! So, hang in there!

“Christ Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers-- all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.” (Colossians 1:15-20)

FAITH HARVEST FULL GOSPEL CHURCH

Resurrection Sunday celebration is almost here. I am excited to tell you about the Savior of the world. “Jesus the Son of God”, This same Jesus died so you can live. In this world we live in we see the pain and suffering of so many of those around us and the fear and possibility of a world at war.

These things may be concerning to you, but they haven’t taken the Lord by surprise. God knows the future of everyone and everything, and you need a Savior. Jesus offers us help here as well as eternity with Him.

John 16:33 tells us “These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulations; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Jesus has overcome the daily struggles in this life and He wants you to be an overcomer too. Say yes to Him today. If you let Him come into your life he will save you and give you His abundant, perfect peace.
