LUPE ADAMES
Our Beautiful Mother, Lupe Adames, age 79 of Sweetwater, sadly passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. She was born to the late Pascual & Adela Acuna on November 21, 1942. Lupe married Aurelio Adames Jr. on June 6, 1961, they had 59 wonderful years together and were blessed with four daughters Monica, Laura, Stephanie & Annie. Lupe retired from K-Mart after a long career in retail, and for the past ten years she worked as a home health care provider where she enjoyed the companionship and being able to care for others. Lupe was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Pasish – Her favorite bible verse Psalm 91:1-2 “He is my refuge & my fortress, my God, in whom I trust”. Lupe is survived by her sisters Julia (and late husband Fidel Leal) of San Antonio, TX, Patsy & husband Denver Byrd of Rochester, TX, Felipa Martinez of Abilene, TX, her brothers Manuel & wife Mary, David & wife Susan & Si Acuna all of Abilene, TX. Her children Monica & husband Israel Vera, Stephanie (and late husband Greg Trahan) all from Sweetwater, TX; Laura & husband Danny Carrion, Annie & husband Ruben Moreno all from Roby, TX. Nine grand-children Jordan Carrion, Dylon Adames, Isabel Carrion, Ian Moreno, Sara Vera, Hanna Vera, Anthony Moreno, Jake Carrion and Aiiden Rivera; two great grand-children Carsyn McGuffin & Reagan Adames. Lupe is preceded in death by her parents Pascual & Adela Acuna, husband Aurelio Adames Jr and brother Jesse Acuna. Lupe was a wonderful mother who was affectionately known to all as Mema, she always surrounded herself with her friends and family, this is where she felt most comfortable and loved. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors, she enjoyed crafting with her grandchildren, being outdoors and tending to her pots and plants. Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. A Prayer Vigil will be held Thursday at 6:30 P.M. and Rosary at 7:00 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Deacon David Mendez officiating. Pallbearers will be Israel Vera, Ruben Moreno, Danny Carrion, Jordan Carrion, Dylon Adames and Ian Moreno.
