BETHEL ASSEMBLY OF SWEETWATER

BROADWAY BAPTIST CHURCH

Time to Celebrate!

It will finally be here in just a few days! It has been anticipated for months and months. Things have been lining up just right in preparation for this special day. So, are your plans all set?

You know what I’m talking about, right? I’m talking about December 21. That’s right, the first day of Winter! Also known as, the shortest day of the year. So, what are your plans to celebrate? I mean, we only get around 10 hours of daylight, so what are you going to do?

Okay, so this is not something we really celebrate, commemorate, or even think about very much. But, I did have you going for just a second.

It does get me thinking though. Why don’t we celebrate more? I mean, there are little miracles (if there is such a thing) all around us every day. Did you, were you able to get out of bed this morning? Celebrate! Do you have food in the pantry? Do you have a pantry? Celebrate!

Too many times, I know I’m guilty of the “full steam ahead” mentality that misses all the things I should be celebrating in life. Life’s tasks seem to take precedent over everything else. I’m just moving from point A to point B, “do not pass go, do not collect $200!”

Sound all too familiar? Well, maybe it’s time we take the “time” we have (how much or how little) and do some more celebrating. This should be a good week to start as we celebrate the “shortest day of the year,” and, oh yeah, CHRISTMAS!

FAITH HARVEST FULL GOSPEL CHURCH

400 Alamo Street Sweetwater

Happy fall from all of us at Faith Harvest Church. The seasons are changing and change can be a good thing, especially if you are changing for the good. Change you say, no way not me. Most of us don’t like change but change can be good if it is positive steps forward. Many are stuck in discouraging and dead cycles. I believe that Jesus still wants to rescue everyone out of them.

I can say from my own personal experience that Jesus makes everything new and he also refreshes our souls. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

So if you are stuck in discouraging cycle I would encourage you to cry out to Jesus for help. Ask him to show you new things to do for him. I believe you will feel a new well and a freshness as Jesus beings to make things new in your life. May the love, joy, and peace of God be in your life today and everyday as you learn to trust him more.
