In-person signup on Jan. 29 for softball; SHS gym has in-person baseball signup on Jan. 27

The only in-person signup for the Sweetwater Girls Softball Association season is Sunday, Jan. 29 from 3-5 p.m. at Argos Brewhouse & Bookseller, 209 Oak Street.

Those who cannot attend the in-person signup can register online by going to the SGSA’s Facebook page, Online registration ends on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The registration fee is $80 for one player and $65 for each additional player.

To complete registration, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or ACH Bank Account information available. If you need to pay in cash, you may select that option at checkout.

No player will be registered without both a completed registration and a fee paid in full. Coaches, team moms, board members and umpires are needed for the spring season so volunteer registration, mandatory background check and Safesport certification must be completed by parents who volunteer their time.

Please note that a birth certificate image must be readable and clear and must be the original or copy of the original. A blurry cell phone picture will not be accepted.

For legal reasons, player birth certificates are not kept on file after the season ends, so keep your image in a safe location for next year’s registration.

Practices begin March 1 and games start on March 27. This year’s district tournaments in Abilene are as follows: May 5-7 for ages 6-under through 8-under; May 12-14 for 10-under; and May 19-21 for the 12-under through 14-under group.

The online signup period for the Sweetwater Youth Baseball Association season ends Tuesday, Jan. 31 at midnight. There will be no late signups. An in-person signup will be held at the Sweetwater High School gym from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27.

The cost to sign up per child is $75 for Tee Ball (6-under) and $90 for 8-under, 10-under and 12-under. The cost to sign up for 15-under will be given at a later date. Cost to sign up for additional siblings is $10 off. Payments may be made by Venmo or cash.
