JANICE PRIDEMORE

Janice Pridemore, 70, of Sweetwater, Texas earned her Heavenly wings on Sunday, February 12, 2023, while resting peacefully at home with her family by her side. She endured a lengthy illness with strength and courage, especially for the ones she loved. Janice Elaine Bahlman was born on August 29, 1952, in Robert Lee, Texas to Melvin and Tressie Bahlman. Janice was in the Sweetwater High School class of 1970, and she married Mike Pridemore on February 28, 1984. She was a member of the 4th and Elm Church of Christ in Sweetwater. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Sweetwater from 1972 to 2002, and later owned and operated Bahlman Cleaners from 2003 until her retirement in 2019. Janice was an avid reader and she enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, painting, and studying handwritin­g analysis. A soft-hearted soul, she loved singing, doing yard work and gardening, and she was an excellent cook. She especially loved her cousins and her dogs and cats and being Gran Jan to her grandchild­ren. Janice is survived by her son Kelly Halstead and Brandi Clark of Sweetwater; her grandson Kolt Halstead and Michaela Madrid and their daughter, Kennedy of Buffalo Gap, TX; her sister Carla Morgan and her husband Scott of Sweetwater; her niece Marisa Daniel and husband Dylan, and their children Charlie, Kelsye and Landon Daniel of Abilene, TX; her step grandsons Tyson and Tanner Engle and their families; her sister-in-law Sandy Licht and her family; and numerous cousins. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Tressie Bahlman, her husband Mike Pridemore, and her sister-in-law, Charlotte Mitchell. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home, 401 E 3rd St., Sweetwater, TX. A Visitation for friends and family will be at the funeral home on Thursday, February 16, from 5:00 to 7:00PM. Funeral services will be at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Teague and Dr. Michael Harbour officiatin­g on Friday, February 17, at 10:00AM, followed by graveside services at Sweetwater Cemetery. Pallbearer­s are Kelly Halstead, Kolt Halstead, Lanny Bahlman, Danny Bahlman and other cousins. Honorary pallbearer­s are Larry George Kennedy and Paul Dalton. Cristina Covarrubia­s, 68, of Sweetwater passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Services are pending with McCoy Funeral Home.

AUBREY DON O’DONALD

Aubrey Don O’Donald 79, of Sweetwater Texas, was born September 26th 1943 in Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas to Mary Etta and Eircle O’Donald of the farming and ranching community of Claytonvil­le where he and his younger brother Ronnie grew up. Don participat­ed in 4-H, Baseball, FFA and AJRA rodeo. He was a graduate of Sweetwater High School class of 1961 and grew up in the 4th & Elm Church of Christ congregati­on. He carried on in farming, ranching and rodeoing until joining the Army in the 101st Airborne division as a paratroope­r with an expert rifle badge at the time of his honorable discharge. Following his time of service, he had many skills, trades and employment­s including: Texas Highway Department of Public Transporta­tion, as an Engineer’s Aid, Cattleman buying, trading, working and hauling cattle, Rodeo contract work, Brown & Root, Houston Tx welder for oil and gas tanks, General American Transporta­tion as a welder, pusher and crane operator, Self Employed as general constructi­on company in Sweetwater - engineered and fabricated structures for farms and ranches, corrals and fences; dozer, tractor and heavy equipment work, Custom cowboying for local cattle operations, Chuckwagon cook and events, DalMac Ranch foreman - guided, youth, charitable and corporate hunts; events and reunions; Constructi­on; and farming, Owner of the Texas Windmill Cafe and General Store and West Texas Rock. He married Carolyn Hillyard in 1966 and had two children, Michael David and Kari Michelle. Michael passed away in January of 1974. He later remarried and served as a father figure to their children as well. Other affiliatio­ns he served were Palo Pinto ISD school board, assisting Texas Game Wardens and local Sheriff Department­s, Western Heritage Classic in Abilene, Billy the Kid Days in Hico, the NRA, Meagan Rough Memorial Foundation. He was a devout member of Church of Christ and worshiped in many congregati­ons. He is survived by daughter and son-inlaw Kari & Kevin Rough of Kaufman, Tx; brother and sisterin-law Ronnie & Vickie O’Donald of Wylie, Tx; Nephew Matt O’Donald, wife Marian and daughter Gracie of Wylie, Tx; Nephew Cody O’Donald and wife Dulce of Sherman, Tx; Niece Kristi Rose, husband Spencer and four children Seth, Samuel, Laynee and Lucas of Wylie Tx. Don is preceded in death by son Michael David O’Donald of Sweetwater, Tx; Parents Eircle and Maryetta O’Donald of Sweetwater; granddaugh­ter Meagan Michelle Rough of Lubbock, Tx; grandson Kody Lyn Rough of Kaufman, Tx. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Normandy Avenue Church of Christ in Sweetwater with Mike Ensminger officiatin­g. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories directed by McCoy Funeral Home. A family visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time on Thursday at the Normandy Ave. Church of Christ, 106 Normandy St., Sweetwater, Tx.
