Paul H. Foster, 80, of Clyde died Friday, February 17, 2023, in a Baird care center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bruce Mercer officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Ross Cemetery in Baird. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Paul was born March 11, 1942, in White Plains, New York to George and Edith (Pindell) Foster. He graduated from Central Catholic High in San Antonio. At 16 years of age, he started working at HEB in San Antonio. He later worked as store manager for Safeway in Midland and then came to Abilene, working at Wal-Mart ,0536 Abilene, Texas, for 16 years before retiring. He married Beverley Burnett in Altus, Oklahoma on January 23, 1978. Together they started Dot Dot Dot & Friends, later becoming known as Foster’s Flags. They did this together for 42 years, with family and friends helping throughout the years, working fairs and festivals and opening the store in Clyde in 2012. Paul participat­ed in the Rattlesnak­e Round-Up for 35 years in Sweetwater. He was also an active volunteer for The Upside Down Club of Abilene and a very active member of the Chinese Shar-Pei Club. He had also been a member of the Abilene and Clyde Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverley Foster of Clyde; son, Joe Don Foster of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Shelby Foster and Kelli Foster, both of Clyde; six grandchild­ren, Billy Joe Foster, Leci Wood, Gary Morton, Riley Foster, Kristi Slayter and Dalton Foster; four great granddaugh­ters, Brianna Wood, Kyla Wood, Mikayla Wood and Kara Wood; one greatgreat grandson, Brennan, also bonus family members, Kathy Rayburg, Wendy Torrence, Misty Bennett, Shawn Bagley, Hannah Arnold, Amiah Kelly, Steven Bynum, Laura Brown and many other relatives and close friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Melinda (Santana/Raven) Foster; sister, Connie Miller; sonin-law, Gene Morton and his daughter Kelli’s soulmate, Joe Havner.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to The Upside Down Club of Abilene, 1734 Lytle Shores Dr., Abilene, Texas 79602.
