CLOICE LANELLE EDWARDS HODGE

Cloice LaNelle Edwards Hodge, 93 of Abilene, passed away on May 25, 2023 at Hendrick Hospice Care Center while surrounded by family. She was born on January 20th, 1930 in Trent, Texas to William and Lillian Johnson Edwards. She went on to attend college and on March 15th, 1951 she married the love of her life Robert Thomas Hodge in Trent.

Together Bob and LaNelle raised their family in Sweetwater, Texas where they were active in the community and their church home, 4th and Elm Church of Christ.

LaNelle is survived by her son Edward Hodge and her daughters Donna Hodge and Karen and husband Brad Bonifay. In addition, she is survived by her sister-in-law Sug Springer, grandsons; Cameron and Cody Hodge and Tristan, Braden and Cannon Bonifay as well as a greatgrand­daughter Alayna Hodge.

A Celebratio­n Service and lunch will be held at the 4th and Elm Church of Christ - Fellowship Hall in Sweetwater, Texas on Wednesday May 31st, 2023 at 11:30 am. A private family burial will be held at Garden of Memories in Sweetwater.

The family requests that no flowers be sent and instead if people wish to honor LaNelle with a gift, they do so by donating to the Hodge Foundation at the Children’s Home of Lubbock. LaNelle establishe­d this foundation many years ago in honor of her beloved husband Bob, so if you put in memory of Bob Hodge on the donation, it will go to the correct account.
