Self-Talk Tuneup

Words have energy because of what they mean to us, which changes with the times. The Libra moon has us harmonizing with verbiage today. Be mindful of your vocabulary choices, especially in self-talk. What gives you energy? What brings you down? A conscious effort to improve how you speak to and about yourself will be life-changing.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You’ll have multiple points to tend to, which can only be handled one at a time. The first thing to do is list everything, then prioritize. The right order will be twice as productive than the wrong one.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You know what you’re going for, and you could definitely get lucky and find it within a few attempts. But you’ll be much more successful if you give yourself more options. Find a dozen or 20, then choose the best.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Take the first step today and fate will shoulder some of the weight. As you work, you’ll open yourself up to new opportunities and possibilities. You’ll do your part and put in the effort, then destiny will meet you halfway.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Even if it’s uncomfortable, take the time to address contrasting opinions and find some common ground. Who knows, you might just learn something new and deepen your relationships in the process!

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Your mind is aglow and firing ideas, from the dreamy to the practical, logical, playful and more. The day will provide a steady stream of fuel to keep the intensity manageable and prevent you from flaming out.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You’ll feel the need for more organization. There’s no method out there that will work perfectly for you. You’ll do well to experiment with mixing and blending different systems to find one that fits where you’re at these days.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). What you’re considering will be done with the mindset of “shooting your shot” or, in other words, attempting something unlikely. If it takes very little effort, the only thing at stake is your confidence, which is high today, so you can afford the risk.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Avoid situations that come with giving others too much power over you. Everyone is learning. Don’t assume that someone who has more experience than you in a certain area is going to know more than you in other areas.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22Dec. 21). Core qualities like determination, perseverance and resilience are what truly define someone. Even if someone is currently facing failure, if they have the grit and determination to keep pushing forward, that’s what really matters.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). First, you notice something curious. Soon, you’re interested and, if the subject is worthy, you quickly become fascinated. Everything will seem to speed up as you close in on your orbit.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Shocker -- loved ones don’t always see eye to eye with you. Don’t dive into differences; tiptoe instead. While it’s hard to tiptoe wearing clown shoes, add humor anyway. You’ll laugh, then awkwardly waddle back to common ground.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). When you take a chance and it doesn’t work out, as embarrassing or painful as this may be, it’s still a far better state than the apathy and boredom that comes of a risk-free life. Fortune favors the bold.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (May 30). You’ll be channeling your creative talents in new and exciting ways that will blow your own mind and impress all your friends. You’ll also expand your social circle with quirky and fascinating folks who share your passions and values. More highlights: a career milestone and a positive change to your routine that will have you feeling like a superhero. Aries and Sagittarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 7, 10, 5, 38 and 16.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Idina Menzel will join Adam Sandler for a second time (the first was “Uncut Gems”) to star in the upcoming comedy “You are SO Not Invited to my Bat Mitzvah.” Equally at home in drama and comedy, she is perhaps best known for iconic vocal moments in musicals like “Rent,” “Wicked” and “Frozen.” Menzel is a versatile Gemini born when Mercury, Venus and Saturn were in Taurus, the sign of the voice. Her moon is in entertaining Leo.
