Sweetwater House Concert Association Reflects on Busy Year of Events that Benefited Community; Looks Ahead to 2024
What a great year 2023 was for the Sweetwater House Concert Association, with the Sweetwater community being its beneficiary. Not only was the community entertained by the talents of Kristyn Harris, Dan Martin, Taryn Papa, Matt Marinchick, Dallas Burrow, Mo Robson, Mike McClure and Bri Bagwell, but concert attendees also contributed nearly $12,000 to local charities, including the Pioneer Museum, the VFW Post 2479, the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium, SNAP, LifeHouse, and the Women’s Resource Center. As a bonus, the SHCA helped sponsor the Sweetwater Municipal
Auditorium’s Musica Latina Applause Series show which featured award winning Latina artist, Stephanie UrbinaJones and the Honky Tonk Mariachi Band. And in October, the SHCA was a part of Sweetwater earning the “Music Friendly Community” designation from the Texas Music Office.
2024 promises to be an even bigger year with more award-winning talent, and it is not too late to join the SHCA, so that you don’t have to miss a single show of this, its 7th season. Annual memberships are what make it possible for the SHCA to do its part to help improve the quality of life in Sweetwater. SHCA membership levels start at $100 per year, and there are Sponsorships available that qualify for 501c(3) tax-deductible, charitable contributions. Please call 325-338-2673 for more details or the Chamber of Commerce at 325-235-5488. Current members of the association are encouraged to spread the word by inviting friends and neighbors, those that also love live music, to join this movement whose Mission Statement is: “A memberfunded community group, volunteering its time and resources to host culturally enriching, live music events that also benefit and bring awareness to local charitable organizations.” ...
