-

KICKOFF: Paris High School, 7:30 p.m.,

LAST WEEK: Chandler Luther’s 28-yard field goal with 15 seconds left in the game earned Arkansas High a 17-14 victory over LibertyEylau. Celina beat Argyle Liberty Christian, 35-21.

LAST YEAR: First meeting ever

GAME FACTS: This is Bill Elliott’s first year to be head coach at Celina, but he’s coached at the school 20 years. A member of District 10-3A, the Bobcats and L-E could possibly meet again in the playoffs. Defensive tackle Trenton Hambrick is bound for Austin and the Texas Longhorns next season. The Bobcats have won seven state championships and have been in the playoffs 20 straight years. L-E lost three starters against the Razorbacks last week. Punter/strong safety Alex Norwood is out indefinitely, and leading wide receiver Michael Carr was lost for 6-8 weeks with a fractured wrist. COACHES’ COMMENTS: L-E’S BRIAN BROWN—“We’re very concerned about Celina’s defense, they really put a lot of pressure in your face. We’re going to have some negative plays, but we believe we’ll also have some positive plays. They’re very quick. We’ve changed up our special teams this week. We’ve talked to the kids about how important special teams can be. We’ve got to keep the ball and control the clock, but most of all we’ve

just got to execute better in all phases of the game.”

CELINA’S BILL ELLIOTT— “Liberty-Eylau has so much talent and speed. We played Henderson last year and L-E is somewhat similar. They’ve got two very athletic quarterbacks, and the two running backs (Deshun Brewer and Matt Sellers) are very good. They’ve got good looking kids in the line, it looks like they’re trying to find themselves. We didn’t change much when I took over, although we are trying to throw the ball a little more.”
