Backs, Lady Backs win seven of nine

Arkansas High won seven of nine matches against Sheridan on Thursday, including all four boys matches.

In boys singles Hayden Hemperley defeated Sheridan’s Chaz Viddor, 8-0. Zack Gregory whipped Seth Strange, 8-3. In doubles Chevy Brock and Justin Resecker outlasted Dylan Thompson and Strange, 8-5, while Alec Martin and Brock Boney beat Kollin Jones and Armni Damenke, 8-0.

The Lady Backs won all three of their singles matches. Lily Smith whipped Hope Carter, 8-1; Sydney Gass defeated Kaylee Stewart, 8- 3; and Natalie Hamilton edged Stewart, 8-6.

AHS lost both doubles in the girls competition. Sheridan’s Josey Love and Autumn Clark beat Kristen Shivers and Brittany Jones, 8-1; and Kinzie Marsh and Morgan Hall beat Domonique Price and Bryana Huntley, 8-6.

Arkansas High will host Pine Bluff next Monday.

THS jayvees win

LINDALE, Texas—Texas High’s junior varsity tennis team rolled over Lindale, 10-1, the Tigers’ only loss coming in boys doubles.
