EARL SMITH

Mr. Louie Earl Smith, Jr., age 84, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, in a local hospital.

Mr. Smith was born April 11, 1928, in Heavener, OK and had lived in Texarkana since 1968. He was a member of Hickory Street Baptist Church, was a retired Diesel Mechanic, and was a Veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Greenlee Smith of Texarkana, AR, one son and daughter-in-law, Les and Carolyn Smith of Texarkana, TX, five daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Mike Donovan, Cindy and Tommy Turley, Jennifer and Larry Ward, Patricia and Johnny Schilling, and Peggy and Jon Roswell, all of Texarkana, AR, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Martha and Henry Ford of Tyler, TX, Nelta and Jerry Anderson of Logansport, LA, and Linda Hughes of Texarkana, AR, eighteen grandchildren, and eighteen greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Hickory Street Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Odom and Rev. Micah Mauldin officiating. Private burial with military rites will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 PM until 2 PM Saturday.

The family will be at their residence, 6216 Old Post Road, Texarkana, AR.
