Walter Leon Harrison

Walter Leon Harrison, age 70, of Hatfield, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 in Hot Springs surrounded by his family.

He was born September 16, 1942 in DeQueen, Arkansas to the late Walter G. Harrison and the late Elsie Rachel Jacobs Harrison. He lived most of his life in Texarkana, Arkansas and retired from International Paper Mill in Atlanta, Texas. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy. After he retired, he moved back to his hometown of Hatfield where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and his special dog, Rip. Mr. Harrison was a member of the Hatfield Church of Christ and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.

He is survived by: Wife: Carolyn Lester Harrison of 47 years, Children: Tracy Harrison and wife Jennifer of Texarkana, Arkansas, Stacey Flanagan and husband Scott of Texarkana, Arkansas, Crystal Donelson of Texarkana, Arkansas, Brother: Guy Harrison of Hatfield, Arkansas, Sisters: Rachel Reed of Hatfield, Arkansas, Betty Brice of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Grandchildren: Taylor Harrison, J.T. Harrison, Courtland Harrison, Cole Harris, Drew Woodman, Harrison Flanagan, Patrick Flanagan, Jacob Flanagan, Nathan Donelson, Ethan Donelson, Ryan Donelson, and Chad Donelson, Brother-in-Law: Roy Rowe of Hatfield, Arkansas And a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elsie Harrison, and 2 sisters, Geraldine Rowe and Jessie Mae McEuen.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel with Kevin Randolph officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
