Tigers beat Green Oak, go to 3-0

SHREVEPORT, La.—Texas High improved to 3-0 after defeating Shreveport Green Oak 59-46 Thursday night at the Mary Ann Lawler Invitation­al in Shreveport.

Dominic Cooper led the Tigers with 26 points, and JaNiro Lane knocked down three 3-pointer and had 13 points.

Dane Crawford led Green Oak with 14 points.

The Tigers will play Saturday against Shreveport Northwood. GIRLS LADY TIGERS WIN

WINNSBORO, Texas—Grace Brooks scored a game-high 15 points and drilled two 3-pointers as Texas High defeated Crandall 51-45, at the Winnsboro Hoopfest.

Antonia Porter knocked down one 3-pointer and had 13 points for the Lady Tigers.

The Tigers (4-1) hit five 3-pointers and shot 40 percent from the freethrow line.

Going into the half the Tigers were up 29-18.

Carra Bearson led Crandall with 11 points.

The Tigers will face Saltillo tomorrow at the Winnsboro tournament at 10:40 am today.

L-E FALLS TO LONGVIEW

WINNSBORO, Texas—Longview had a 9-point swing in the third quarter to get past Liberty-Eylau, 56-43, in the Winnsboro Hoopfest.

Nyelan Powell led the Lady Lobos with 15 points, and Yasmine Bradley added 10.

Taylor Crabtree and Lekena Dunn scored 15 points each for the Lady Leopards, who play at 10:40 a.m. today.

LADY HAWKS DROP MARSHALL

LONGVIEW, Texas—Brette Wacha had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds as Pleasant Grove defeated Marshall 48-44, at Spring Hill’s JoAnn Sparks Invitation­al.

Carley Barrett added 15 points for the Lady Hawks.

The Hawks drilled six 3-pointers and were 10-15 from the free-throw line.

PG improved to (5-1) and will play Henderson today at 5:15 p.m.

Monique Walker scored 15 points as PG’s junior varsity defeated Marshall 29-25.

PG’s 9th grade team lost to Marshall 51-14. Madison Allen scored eight points.
