Otis N. Loper

Otis N. Loper, went to be with the Lord his Savior on December 2, 2015, after the results of an accident at his residence.

Otis was born December 4, 1936 and raised in the Oak Grove Community in Atlanta, Texas. He loved Cass County and never lived anywhere else. Graduated from Atlanta High School class of 1955. Otis was a retired employee of the Texas Department of Transporta­tion having retired in 1995 with 40 years of service. He was also a retired volunteer fireman with 38 years of service in the Atlanta Fire Department. He loved every minute of that service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta. He loved spending time fishing, hunting and growing a garden. He was known for his many squash he would give away. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Earl and Mae Loper; his baby daughter, Jacklyn Annette; four brothers, Billy, Ralph, Carl and Frank.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce; son, Bryan and wife Sarah; grandsons, Zachary Loper and Dylan Smith and wife Kelsey; four sisters, Erma Sue Allsup of Ranger, Texas, Mary Kimberlain of Bethany Oklahoma, Pauline Carnation of Texarkana, Arkansas, Jessie Mae Brown and husband Bobby of Carrolton, Texas; and special brother, Charles Loper of Hollywood, California; and many dear special cousins, including Don Loper, Lawrence Loper; and special nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-inlaw, Maxine Endsley to whom he would say nighty nite as we made our call to her each night.

Otis will be missed by many friends and his church family and was loved by everyone that knew him.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 5, 2015, at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Bro. Joe Srygley, Bro. Wes Chambers, Bro. Wes Mills and Bro. James Williams officiatin­g.

Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2015, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Building Fund or to the Food Pantry, P. O. Box 1089, Atlanta, Texas 75551.
