THS splits in tourney
LONGVIEW, Texas—Pleasant Grove split two games Saturday afternoon at the Spring Hill tournament in Longview.
In the first game The Lady Hawks lost to Spring Hill 49-47.
Brette Wacha led the Hawks with 14 points and Faith Lipham scored 12 points.
Anna Honas had a game-high 25 points for the Lady Panthers.
PG won their second game of the day by defeating routing Kilgore 52-25.
Wacha led the Hawks with 15 points and shot 8-for-9 from the free-throw line. Lipham added 11 points. PG improves to 6-3 on the season. Monique Walker had 20 points as PG’s junior varsity team defeated Henderson’s junior varsity team 42-27. Maddle Horn added 12 points.
In PG’s junior varsity second game Walker had ten points and lost to Longview 53-15.
Don’Teshia Mixon had nine points and the 9th grade PG team defeated Spring Hill 23-19.
TIGERS FALL
WINNSBORO, Texas—Texas High fell short and lost a close game agaisnt Sulphur Springs 48-41 Saturday afternoon at the Winnsboro Hoopfest.
Antonia Porter led the Lady Tigers with 14 points and swished two 3-pointers.
The Tigers shot 60 percent from the freethrow line.
The Tigers were down 22-17 at halftime, but couldn’t comeback in the second half to win the game.
Kaylee Jefferson led all scorers with 19 points and hit one 3-pointer for the Lady Wildcats.
The Tigers are 5-3 on the season.

THS MOVES TO 4-0
SHREVEPORT, La.—Texas High improves to 4-0 as the Tigers defeated Northwood high school 49-44 at the Mary Ann Lawler invitational in Shreveport Saturday afternoon.
RJ Reid had a team-high 10 points, knocked down one 3-pointers, and was 3-for-3 from the free-throw line for the Tigers.
Keith English led Northwood with 15 points.
