PETS OF THE WEEK

The pets of the week are Ranger, a male black lab/mastiff between 4 and 5 years old in cage D30, and Autumn, a domestic shorthair, female, tricolor cat who’s 4 years old in the cat adoption room. The cat is spayed.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center of Texarkana, Ark., has 111 animals—including three dogs, 10 puppies, seven cats and 43 kittens available for adoption, a shelter official said. There were 63 adoptions in the past week, and 35 animals were euthanized.

The fee to adopt dogs is $40. Cats can be adopted for $20 each. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at 203 Harrison St. All animals have been wormed and received their seven-in-one shots. For more information, call 870-773-6388.
