Frances Yates

Mrs. Frances Yates, age 88, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died Friday, July 8, 2016 in Fayetteville.

She was born May 26, 1928 in the Belleville Community near Lockesburg, Arkansas. She was a retired school teacher.

Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert and Mary Elizabeth Wilson Emerson; her husband, L.N. Yates, Jr. and four brothers, Woody Emerson, Archie Emerson, Charles Emerson and Sonny Emerson.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Melissa Yates of Little Rock, Arkansas; three daughters and a son-in-law, Ann and Bill Gentry of Van Buren, Arkansas, Judy McClary of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Christy Smith, also of Fayetteville; her siblings, John Emerson of Lebanon, Oklahoma, Bessie Jean Torgerson of Oak Harbor, Washington, Delia Ann Goins of Texarkana, Linda Monroe of Horatio, Arkansas, and Stanley Emerson of New Braunfels, Texas; her grandchildren, Scott Gentry, Craig Gentry, Amanda Pride, Amy Bronson, Andrew McClary, Alex McClary, Sam Yates, Abbi Smith and Alli Smith; her greatgrandchildren, Kaleb Bronson, Ella Bronson, Anna Pride, Clara Pride, Riley Gentry, Thomas Gentry, and Emerson Gentry; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016 in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Lockesburg with Randy Davis officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
