FOOTBALL
The Texas High School athletic department will host a summer youth football camp for incoming sixth- through ninth-graders July 27-28. Camp registration is at 8:30 a.m. July 27 in the Texas High School Multi-Purpose Facility. The camp is from 9 a.m.-noon. The camp is free. GOLF
Hope Country Club hosts the 2016 Watermelon 4-ball tournament August 13-14. On August 12, there will be a shootout. Shootout fee is $20 per team. Entry fee for 4-ball tournament is $250 per team. RUNNING
The second annual Run the Mile, sponsored by Partnership for the Pathway, Saturday, Aug. 27, St. Michael’s fitness center parking lot, $10 registration fee, register race day only, 6:30-7:30 a.m., race begins 8 a.m., walkers, children welcome to join the event, contact 417-230-9038.
There will be a 5K on Aug. 13 in Genoa, Ark., at 8 a.m. in memory of Casey McCarley. The run is also for domestic violence awareness. All proceeds will go in a savings account that has been set up for her daughters. There is a fee of $20 for early registration. Fee of $25 for registration on the day

SOCCER
Texas A&M University-Texarkana Eagles Soccer Academy; series of soccer camps for youths ages 5-18. Boys and girls youth camp will run from July 25-28 as follows: ages 5-6, 9-10:30 a.m., $40; ages 7-9, 9-11:30 a.m., $55; ages 10-13, 6-8 p.m., $75. Girls high school camp for students in grades 9-12 and College ID Camp for students ages 15-18 will be July 21-24. Cost is $275 for residents and $225 for commuter campers. Boys high school camp for students in grades 9-12 and College ID Camp for students ages 15-18 will be July 28-31.
