- By Shonna Yeager

Several area churches will come together for non-stop power and praise during the “Unity in the Community” joint service.

The event kicks off at 7 p.m. Sunday at Mount Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. John Adolph of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Beaumont, Texas, as the guest speaker. Polly Chapel Baptist MBC, Evergreen MBC and Macedonia MBC will also join in for the joint services. A combined community choir of members from each church will then perform.

Simultaneous revivals begin at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at each of the four churches. They then come together at 9:30 p.m. each night at Mount Grove MBC for a late-night revival service.

Each service has a special guest speaker. Speakers include Reginald Reid Sr. of Polly Chapel MBC, Kenneth Reid Sr. of Mount Grove MBC, A.T. Jordan of Evergreen MBC, O.J. Newburn of Macedonia MBC, Tolan J. Morgan of Fellowship Bible Church, Warner Robins, Ga., Stephen B. Hall of Rhema Christian Fellowship, Conyers, Ga., Greg L. Oliver of True Vine MBC, Monroe, La., and Johnteris Tate of First Thessalonian MBC, Memphis, Tenn.

“It is the plan of the host pastors and churches to set this city on fire,” said Mount Grove MBC member Shaketha Richardson. “We are in definite need of a revival. It is our prayer that this encounter will set the precedent for more unity in our community and beyond.”

Revival locations for the 7 p.m. services are Polly Chapel MBC, 2123 Spruce St., Texarkana, Texas; Mount Grove MBC, 2801 Arkansas Blvd., Texarkana, Ark. ; Evergreen MBC, 300 Cantrell St., Nash, Texas; and Macedonia MBC, 158 Payton Rd., Texarkana, Texas.
