Las Amigas Club introduces 18 debutantes
The Las Amigas Club of Texarkana introduced 18 debutantes with a reception Aug. 6 at the Texarkana Arkansas Convention Center.
Melva Flowers, past president, gave opening remarks. Iwona Rockwell introduced the club members. A proclamation was presented by Mayor Bob Bruggeman and Councilwoman Jean Matlock. Barbara Larry, general chairperson, introduced the debutantes and their families. Congratulatory remarks were expressed to the debutantes by Dr. Meredith Melton, a former debutante. The club’s president is Denise Thomas.
Members of the Las Amigas Club are: Karen Brown, Maxine Crittenden, Essie Dodd, Melva Flowers, Leatrice Haskins, Pauline Haynes, Barbara Larry, Cassandra Rhone, Lori Rochelle, Jo Ann Rice, Iwona Rockwell, Stephanie Casteel-Terry, Denise Thomas, Shirley Tubbs, Johnnie Wallace, Ernestine Williams, Rita Williams and Lillie Young.
The reception marked the beginning of the 2016 debutante season. The debutantes will be presented at the Las Amigas Club Debutante Ball on Dec. 27.
