Imogene C. Marlar, 90 of Texarkana, Arkansas, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at her home. She was born on January 24, 1926 in Blevins,AR. Imogene was a member of Prescott Church of the Nazarene. She worked for the Arkansas Soil Conservati­on Office for 16 years and spent 26 years enjoying her true passion as an elementary school teacher. She truly loved all children from all background­s. Her greatest joy was being a mother, a grandmothe­r, a great grandmothe­r, and a friend. She was a wonderful cook, loved gardening and helping someone in need. If you met her once, you remembered her twice.

Imogene was preceded in death by her husband James W. Marlar.

Survivors include two sons, James K. Marlar of Nash, TX and Bill Marlar of Texarkana, AR; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Joel Schwartz of Plano, TX; five grandchild­ren; Alicia Wolf and husband John of Texarkana, AR, Wil Marlar and wife Kristin of Texarkana, TX, Brian Schwartz of Lancaster, PA, Julie Schwartz of Plano, TX, Mandy Campbell and husband Joel of Beckville, TX; six great grandchild­ren; Chloe Wolf, Hannah Wolf, Ben Wolf of Texarkana, AR, Mason and Clayton Campbell of Beckville, TX and Vanessa Marlar of Texarkana, TX.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Texarkana for their care. A special thank you is extended to Imogene’s wonderful caregivers; Evelyn, Barbara, Renata, Darenda, and Jean.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at East Memorial Chapel-Moores Lane with Pastors Roger Gragg and Glenda Gragg officiatin­g.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

Family will receive friends from 6 PM to 7:30 PM Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the funeral home.
